UAE Pavilion at the World Expo in Dubai

The striking exterior of the UAE Pavilion is inspired by the vision of a
falcon in motion. The architectural masterpiece reflects the country’s
ambition to continuously move forward, which is engrained in the
UAE’s cultural identity and pioneering spirit.

The UAE Pavilion, themed The Land of Dreamers Who Do’, showcases the nation from its ancient roots to its development as an unified home for people from all walks of life.

Through a human-centric approach, the aim of the Pavilion is to evoke a collective sense of ambition and foster togetherness that will shape an innovative, connected future.

Embarking on the journey you are struck by an exterior design conceptualized and engineered by world-renowned Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava.

Inspired by the vision of the national bird of the UAE – the falcon the architectural masterpiece reflects the country’s cultural identity and pioneering spirit, representing the nation’s boundless ambition to move forward with a vision for the future that is propelled by innovation and human evolution.

The Pavilion spans an area of over 15,000 square meters and is made of 28 movable wings that cover solar panels All species are locally occurring, evoking a sense of place that is authentic and unique to the UAE with colors and textures that are found uniquely within the mountainous region, inland desert and the coastal margineering spirit, representing the nation’s boundless ambition to move forward with a vision Entering the interior, the design takes you through a journey starting at the Oasis featuring the thousands of years old Falaj irrigation system to inspire a deeply personal journey through the pavilionare meters and is made of 28 movable wings that cover solar panels that provide power Surrounded by the scent and texture of native trees and plants, the Pavilion is carefully curated

Followed by that is the entrance to the desert of dreams where you are taken into a multisensory journey inspired by sound, smell and tangible elements.

Bespoke scents across the pavilion heighten the emotional impact of the journey through traditional up from Basil, Jasmine Sambac, Lily of the Valley, White Amber, Sandalwood, and White Musk The journey continues through the Crossroads and Union interpretation designed to carry one towards the present and future ambitions of the UAE.

The experience communicates the intangible UAE values, that have withstood the rapid transformation into a developed nation that is home to people from over 190 nations, through a poetic representation of the UAE in animated film at the multisensory, elevating, Pearl Theater.

The animated film features the UAE story through the eyes of Osha, a young Emirati girl who lived through the generations of pearl diving, development, education and much more.

At the next stage you are taken through the stories of dreamers who achieved at Desert Roses, reflecting a sample of the daily stories that were lived in the UAE, creating a better future for all An array of sculptural media structures inspired by the natural elegance and geometry in a glance able media landscape that encourages curiosity and exploration The Desert Roses feature short documentary-style films about the UAE Dreamers who are building the country’s future.

The purposeful and collaborative design of the pavilion relays four main themes: the UAE’s longstanding value system, wholly embracing other cultures; the dreamers of the country who tirelessly contribute to the nation’s growthand the Emirates’ promising future ahead.
